100% sustainable Pinot Noir from a 4.5 acre vineyard contiguous to the domaine. A higher percentage of clay here contributes to the wines more formidable structure. Hand harvested, fully destemmed, and traditional vinification in open wooden open vats. Aged for 18 months in 10-15% new oak. 200 cases made. Rich and ripe, with plenty of primary blackberry, strawberry and blueberry fruit after 8 years in bottle. Still has grippy tannins and juicy acidity, but is just started to show some tertiary n9tes of forest floor, earth and herbs.Excellent quality to price ratio on some good aged red Burg! 92 points, Wine Enthusiast. "This is a wine for long-term aging, with rich tannins and impressive red fruits that promise a fine future. It comes from a well-exposed vineyard on the western edge of the village that begins the slope into the hills. Drink from 2023."
