100% Chenin Blanc, hand harvested from vines in Montlouis-Sur-Loire. Fermented with native yeasts only. Aged 50% in stainless steel and 50% in 600L barrels. Bottled with minimal sulphur.
A great value on perfectly aged Loire Valley Chenin- this shows off a developed but still clean nose of light citrus fruits, funky zestiness, salt, chalk, honey and nuts. Soft, juicy and dry while still being fruity. Have this with some smoked mussels and thank us later.
The Franck Breton domain is located in Saint-Martin-le-Beau, one of the three municipalities, which with Montlouis-sur-Loire and Lussault, can take advantage of the A.O.C. Montlouis-sur-Loire. Franck took over the estate of Claude Boureau, his father-in-law in 2008.
Extending over 20 acres, the vineyards of the Franck Breton estate benefit from a very absorbent but not very humid soil, whose surface is composed of sandy earths and flint. As for the tuff basement, it allows the vine to have a rich and inexhaustible reserve of nutritional elements. To this quality of the soils is added the sunny microclimate which, between the Loire and the Cher, promotes an optimal maturity of the grapes.
