2018 Heikell Family Red Wine

75% Petit Verdot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, all sourced from Yountville. Aged for 36 months in 40% new French oak. Bottled unfiltered. 14.9% alcohol. Only 100 cases made.  Inky, deep purple.  Full bodied, rich and powerful. Aromas of blackberry, blueberries, spice box and oak. Rich black fruit, dark chocolate on the palate, with a smooth finish. Ready to drink! Winemaker/owner Eric Heikell worked at fan-favorite Laird Family under Paul Hobbs and Brian Mox as the cellarmaster and assistant winemaker for 10 years.  He was initially mentored by his wife Julie’s father, Gene Cravea. The Cravea family had been growing grapes long before prohibition and immigrating to the US from Italy. During prohibition the family sold “table grapes” to Bay Area Italians. Fans of Laird wines will love these!
