2018 Kessler-Haak Pinot Noir 'Ohana'

100% Pinot Noir sourced from several family estate vineyards (‘Ohana’ is the Hawaiian word for family). Hand harvested, hand sorted and fully destemmed.Aged for an amazing 48 months in  French and Hungarian barrel (67% neutral). Bottled unfined and unfiltered. 14.5% alcohol. 687 cases made.  Full bodied, rich and velvety smooth. Aromas and flavors of  ripe, deep cherry notes with baking spices, cardamom, clove and earthy forest floor.  Kessler-Haak is located on Hwy 246, 11 miles west of Buellton in the cooler northwestern section of the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. Owner/grower/winemaker Dan Kessler, along with his wife Ellen Haak-Kessler, purchasaed this 40 acre parcel and planted 30 acres of vines in 2005.  They make a small amount of wine while selling fruit to The Ojai Vineyard, Madson and more.
