100% sustainably farmed Gamay Noir from 110-year-old vines growing on pink granite and sand soil. 12 day maceration with whole clusters, fermentation with native yeasts, and one year aging in neutral wood. 13% alcohol. Deep purple in color, this Fleurie has a nose of black raspberry, strawberry, black plum and dried cranberry, with violet-like floral overtones. On the palate the wine has a plush mouthfeel and persistence on the finish. This wine would pair with almost any dish because of its complementary acid structure, extremely fine tannins and supple red fruit. Lucien Lardy is a third generation winemaker who cultivates some of the best Fleurie plots in Beaujolais where he practices responsible farming. Fleurie wine is known as “The Queen of Beaujolais” due to its distinctive floral, fruity aromas and silky texture.
