2021 Henri Delagrange Hautes Côtes de Beaune Blanc

100% sustainably farmed Chardonnay from clay-limestone soils. Fermented and aged simply in stainless steel.  Done in a more modern style- almost Old World meets New World. Citrus, apple and pear fruit flavors with light minerality and a hint of creamy buttery notes.  Aromas of mildly honeyed white flowers greet the nose, adding to the aromatic richness. On the palate, it strikes a nice balance between the crispness of the Chardonnay and the mildness of the mellower notes.  T René’s son Henri Delgrange and his wife Gisele eventually took over and began farming the six hectares spread over the Volnay and Pommard appellations. Yet the domaine really evolved after Gisele and Henri’s son Didier came on board. he Delagrange family has worked vineyards and crafted wines in Burgundy for six—going on seven—generations.
