100% Baga, farmed organically and biodynamically (uncertified) at the Quinta do Baixo estate that Niepoort owns. All work is done by hand. Hand harvested and fermented by carbonic maceration in steel. Aged 29 months in used large barrels. 9,600 bottles made. Aromatic notes of black tea, white pepper, blackbery, red fruits and a tomato leafy character, underscored by light oak. This flavorful, modern red is dry, juicy and refreshing, with a textured mouthfeel that contributes to its compact profile. Vibrant, earthy, a little funk and totally unique, Sort of like Beaujolais meets Loire Valley Cabernet Franc with a darker, more savory flavor profile. The combination of light body, juicy acidity, mellow tannins and this wine’s dark palate make it an incredibly versatile food wine.
