Only 500 liters of this incredible sweet wine was made! It is a sustainably farmed blend of Chardonnay and Riesling, with 45% of grapes infected with the “noble rot” botrytis (like Sauternes). 6.6% alcohol. 175g/L residual sugar. Unbelievable richness, fruit intensity and freshness. Orange marmalade, peach syrup, lychee, honeyed apricots and toffee all make an appearance. Finish your next dinner party with this one! Richard presides over a miniscule estate with his partner Petra, producing 20–25,000 bottles a year from vineyards within 750 yards of his winery. His soils are 80% loess and 20% conglomerate and his vineyard practices would all be classified as sustainable. He prefers whole-cluster fermentation. The wines are generous in flavour but polished.
