100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the 60 acre Deux Chevaux Vineyard, just north of Yountville. Fully destemmed. Aged for 18 months in French oak (75% new, 25% neutral). 14.9% alcohol. 645 cases made. This is a classic Napa valley floor Cabernet Sauvignon, with richness and well balanced, approachable elegance. Aromas of ripe blackberries, anise, and dark chocolate introduce a rich, full-bodied palate brimming with black cherry, dried fig, and notes of tobacco and toasted oak. The well-structured tannins and velvety finish make it an exceptional pairing for richer dishes. Owner Barry Waitte was mentored by Robert Mondavi, Andy Beckstoffer and Ren Harris and winemaker Sally Johnson Blumis a Santa Clara University alum- she was also Pride’s head winemaker for 15 years and has two 100pt scores!
93 points, Wine Spectator. "A dense, winey Cab, with an alluring whiff of alder smoke weaving around a dense and polished core of cassis, plum reduction and blackberry puree flavors. A solid graphite spine and a late tug of warm earth fill out the finish."
