100% certified organic Pinot Noir from the HMR estate vineyard, planted in 1964 on calcareous limestone at 1500-1700’ elevation in the Adelaida district of West Paso. Aged in French oak barriques (21% new) for 15 months. 13.3% alcohol. 2,059 cases made. The 2022 vintage saw late heat spikes force early picking, resulting in a lighter, lower-alcohol wine showcasing savory notes in a fresh, elegant style. Aromatic notes of rose petal, earthy chaparral, black cherry, pepper, and raspberry lead into a medium bodied, silky palate with just the right hint of oak, brisk acid, fine tannins and a lingering limestone freshness. Paso might not be where you expect to find elegant Pinot, but here it is! Winemaker Jeremy Weintraub previously worked at Seavey and Antinori’s Tignanello.
