100% Riesling from a single parcel of the famed Kinheimer Rosenberg vineyard- in fact, this estate’s holdings total only 2.5 acres across three sites. Soils are red slate. Fermented and aged in a single old fuder. Floral and juicy with stacks of stone fruit plus a lively acidity this is a delightful Spatlese Trocken with well-judged grape sweetness that the citrusy freshness at the finish easily balances. Very clean finish that pulls you back for more. Overall quite dry. 8.5% alcohol. This tiny estate was run by two brothers, who tended it and made the wine by themselves well into their seventies. Upon their recent passing, the famed Selbach family has become the stewards of the estate and continue to make the wines in the traditional style the brothers were so known for. This is one of the last vintages the brothers made.
