100% Pinot Noir. 83% of the blend (clones 115 and 667) comes from the Golden Fleece Vineyard in Boonville. The remainder (Martini clone) is sourced from Lichen’s estate vineyard. Despite the power and richness of this wine, there’s no new oak used. 14.2% alcohol. Rich, full bodied and fruit forward, with polished tannins. Blackberry, pomegrante, black cherry, plum, earl grey tea, cinnamon and pie crust notes. Winemaker/owner Doug Stewart founded Breggo – the name means “sheep” in the local Boonville dialect – in 2005 and began planting a vineyard in 2008. During the era’s economic downturn, he sold the brand to Clif Lede but not the land, now Lichen’s estate vineyard. In 2023, Stewart leaped at the chance to repurchase the Breggo name, in the process reacquiring some of the older vintages.
