100% sustainably farmed Pinot Noir from the monopole premier cru site “En Nagets.” This tiny vineyard is the most southerly facing of the Ladoix premier crus, and lies at the very top of the slope beside Corton-Charlemagne. Aged for 15 months in 20% new oak. Excellent, high quality Burgundy that drinks above its price point. The nose shows powerful aromas of rich, dark, red berry and cherry fruit, brambly, earthy and light barrel-infelcted spice notes. Juicy, lush, smooth and powerful on the palate, with lots of spicy savoriness with great concentration and intensity. Ripe tannins with just moderate grip. Brother and sister team Francois-Xavier and Marie Madeleine Maratray are the third generaton to manage their 50 acres of vines.
