100% organic and biodynamic Barbera from vineyards in Roero and Roddi between 50 and 90 years old. All parcels are hand picked and fermented separately, with native yeasts only. Aged mostly in large Austrian oak casks with some in terracotta amphora. 14.5% alcohol. This is a focused, precise and yet concentrated and juicy Barbera. The sandy soils of Roero provide for an exuberance of red berry aromas on the nose, while the limestone rich soils of Roddi lend structure to the finish. Dark, sexy and smokey, with aromas and flavors of black cherry, blackberry, balsamic and subtle spice. Mouthfilling and serious, this has mellow tannins and amazing acidity begging you to pair it with just about anything.
