2022 Pax Mahle Wines Syrah

100% sustainably farmed Syrah from the Castelli-Knight Ranch, Griffins Lair, Armagh, Nellessen, Hawks Butte and Alder Springs vineyards. 100% whole cluster fermentation with native yeasts. Aged 10 months in neutral French oak puncheons. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. 13.0% alcohol. The nose is bursting with pure scents of blackberry pie, violet, cracked black pepper and loamy earth. The medium-bodied palate features generous, floral fruit structured by clay-textured tannins and mouthwatering acidity that lures you in to take another sip. Really enticing, intriguing and complex Syrah. Pax Mahle moved to California in 1997  and spent time as a wine buyer for Dean and Deluca before starting this tiny brand.
