80% Gamaret, 20% Gamay; farmed organically on estate vineyardson pink granite soils in a southwest facing amphitheatre in the Les Labourons area of Fleurie. Gamaret is a grape created in Switzerland. It is a cross between Gamay and Reichensteiner. Fully destemmed, native yeast fermentation, hand harvested, unfined, unfiltered. Aged in old barrels. The result is floral and savory, with vibrant red and blue berry fruit, earthy mushroom and savory dried herb notes, fine acidity, and gentle tannins. A fresh, focused red that balances delicacy and depth—distinctive and quietly expressive. This is a perfect French country wine–bursting with flavor yet restrained, and still possessed of that lovely rustic quality that old-school French winemakers seem to conjure out of thin air.
