100% certified biodynamic Chardonnay from a single 3.5 hectare vineyard in Saint-Bris (formerly considered part of Chablis!) with vines ranging from 5 to 35 years old. Fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel and aged for 10 months in steel. Saint-Bris, the region where the wine is made, is geographically of the same cut as Chablis but was exiled from the appellation by the vinicultural powers that be after a bout of phylloxera hit it in the 19th century.
Tasting Notes
A delicious white Burgundy that holds its own with neighboring Chablis. Flavors range from pear to grapefruit to subtle ginger spice. Richness reflects low yields and warmth of the vintage, combined with a classic Goisot style of lovely texture, persistent length and racy drive.
About Domaine Grivot-Goisot
Domaine Grivot-Goisot is a family owned winery located in the North of Burgundy in the heart of the Auxerrois, in a village called Saint-Bris le Vineux, known in Burgundy for exceptionally producing Sauvignon. Historical recollections from Saint Bris attest that the Goisot family already owned vineyards in the 15th century, but it was in 1947 that Serge Goisot took the family winery to the next level by launching into the production of bottles. Today, Anaëlle Goisot and René Grivot manage an estate that covers an area of 27,5 hectares and produces prestigious appellations such as Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru as well as Saint Bris, Bourgogne Côte d’Auxerre, and Bourgogne Aligoté. The family utilizes sustainable viticultural practices that are continuously improving year after year.
