100% Gamay from 70 year old vines from 2 prestigious lieu-dits: Les Marrans (0.75 acres) and Charbonnières (2.1 acres). Both are on the trademark pink granite soils and are farmed organically (uncertified) and sustainably (certified). Native yeast fermentation and aging in concrete. Minimal sulphur additions. 13% alcohol. Only 6,000 bottles made. Fleurie is usually considered to produce especially charming, dare one say feminine, wines. But this unexpectedly dense and liquorous example departs from that model, albeit it has floral overtones.
The Perrachon name appears in Beaujolais history as early as 1601. Today, the seventh generation of winemakers farm 74 acres and make 15,000 cases annually.
93 points, Wine Enthuasiast. "Earthy black cherry and bruised red cherry aromas fill the nose followed by late-summer grass frond. The palate boasts juicy fruit that bursts into relaxed, hoodie-jumpered red cherry. Forest floor elements make this wine an ideal accompaniment with savory dishes." — Reggie Solomon
