100% Viognier. No winemaking stats available, as Sean Thackery never wrote tech sheets. There’s power and elegance to this wine. The nose is purely floral, with a beautiful, intense, and concentrated bouquet, simply floral and exotic and familiar simultaneously. And on the palate? Marmalade and warming citrus notes abound, with tons of texture adding depth - balanced, with a long and satisfying finish that lingers on the tongue, with remarkable complexity. This is heady stuff and yet fresh and bright, too. Sean Thackrey was one of California’s most influential, eccentric, and game-changing winemakers. Releasing his first vintage in 1981, working in isolation in the tiny town of Bolinas on the coast in Marin County, everything he created was unique. Sean passed away in 2022, and his assistant winemaker Dustin Durfee is carrying the legacy forward.
