100% Chardonnay- 60% Bracken Vineyard and 40% Sojeau Vineyard. Roughly half the blend went to stainless before harvest, with several barrels not included until late November, then an additional component of the Sojeau Chardonnay to offer more richness. Sojeau’s texture, a chewy and rich palate sense, meets the chiseled structure and leaner aromatic drive of Bracken, creating a waxy mouthfeel and salty essence throughout. 12.4% alcohol. 210 cases made. Popping aromas with white peach, flower pollen, candied but restrained tropical edges. Lean and fresh, round up front with mildly phenolic edges lending some grip. Lovely but restrained range of aroma— juicy, focused and with a dose of the ocean. Wood spice and a persistent orange and white fruit giving a serious but subtle personality in its youth, waiting to open up but keeping its focus.
