100% organic Sauvignon Blanc from ten acres of 40 year old, dry farmed estate vines in the village of Montigny. Vinification is direct press, indigenous yeast fermentation in stainless vats. Aged in stainless and neutral oak casks. This is classic style Sancerre with a bit more weight due to the partial aging in neutral oak. Grassy and tropical notes with some stone fruit come together in the nose and lead into a wine with racy acidity, a wonderful mineral and acid texture and a tense finish. The Pellés farm 100 acres of vineyards, mostly in Menetou-Salon, planted to Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, without herbicides or pesticides. While the family business started as a hobby at the beginning of the 20th century, today Domaine Henry Pellé is the benchmark producer by which all others in the AOC are judged.
