An unspecified blend of Grenache and Syrah from Tavel’s sandy soils filled with white limestone pebbles. Macerated on the skins for 24-48 hours with a long, cool fermentation. This village is known for producing excellent, full bodied, darkly colored “rosé” wines that are really more like very light red wines than most rosés- you might call them the original chillable reds! Explosions of strawberry, raspbery, stone fruit and citrus alongside aromatic florals and a hint of smokiness. Full bodied and bone dry, with high acidity and a long, juicy, wet-stone accented finish. Excellent food wine. Jocelyn Raoux is a third generation vintner, having started his career assisting the family winemaking at the ripe age of six years.
