2024 Nicolas Idiart Sancerre Blanc

100%  sustainably grown Sauvignon Blanc from 30 year old vines on the chalky, caillottes-laden soils of Sury-en-Vaux, just north of Sancerre. Fermented and aged entirely in concrete.  Great value on classic Sancerre. Refreshing notes of citrus and grapefruit, complemented by subtle hints of mint, wet stone and peach. Medium bodied, dry and round in the mouth. Smooth and well balanced, with medium acidity. More fruity than mineral or grassy.  Nicolas Idiart’s journey into winemaking began with an extraordinary achievement—graduating from Bordeaux University as France’s youngest winemaker at just 19. His early training at the renowned Chateau Talbot and Chateau Palmer provided a strong foundation in traditional winemaking and cultivated his dedication to excellence.
