100% Albariño from, of all places, the Cunat family’s estate vineyard in Oak Knoll. Vineyards are Napa Green and Fish Friendly certified sustainable. 73% of the blend ages in steel, with the remainder in neutral oak. 14.1% alcohol. 554 cases made. The name Yamabuki is inspired by the kerria japonica or Japanese rose: reminiscent of the wine’s hue and floral character. This is winemaker Chelsea Barrett’s favorite wine from her lineup! It’s medium-plus bodied and round on the palate, with balanced acidity underpinning the aromas and flavors of citrus and tropical fruits, delicate rose florals and a bit of an herbal spicy note. Slightly richer and rounder than the classic Spanish Albariño. Excellent aperitif or seafood wine. Brian and Miki Cunat planted this 50 acre property in 2007, with their first vintage in 2014.
