100% Chardonnay from 15 acres of Grand Cru estate vineyards in Le Mesnil sur Oger. Sustainable (uncertified) farming. Vines are 20-60 years old and all soils are pure chalk. Hand-harvested. Pressed in an ancient wooden upright press, and fermented on native yeasts in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks. 30% reserve wine. Aged for three years in bottle. Dosage 3 grams/L. Aromas of gardenia, honeysuckle, brioche. Flavors of lemon curd, sea salt, toast. Fine-grained and savory. For more than 130 years, the Turgy family has grown and harvested Chardonnay grapes on these chalky soils, and because of this, they can certainly claim to be more than acquainted with the true soul and substance of Mesnil. There are few non-vintage wines that age as well as does Turgy Champagne!
