65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon hand harvested from 40 year old vines. Fermented with natural yeast then aged in one-third new oak for 12-14 months. It was bottled without fining and filtering. 2016 was an exceptional vintage for Pauillac. Intense aromas of blackcurrants and blackberries and notes of spice, violets, red cherry, and well-integrated oak notes. On the palate, this wine shows opulent fruit, fresh acidity, refined tannins, and restrained notes of leather and tobacco. Albert Tiffon from La Fleur Haut Carras has built up his estate in small steps since 1982. Unable to take over his parent’s estate, he decided to create his own by parceling together some small plots when he could. He now owns 20 acres in Haut-Médoc, and above all, 4 acres in Pauillac. His neighbors include Mouton, Latour, Lynch-Bages and Pichon Comtesse de Lalande.
