100 % Chardonnay from the Premier Cru ‘En Sazenay’ vineyard from a block on the top of the hillside with rather clayey soils and some blue marl. Hand with sorting of grapes is followed by destemming and a traditional vinification in open wooden open vats. The wine aged 1 year in barrel (10-15% new). Full bodied, perfectly aged and ready to drink. The acidity must have been smokin’ high when this wine was young, because it is still plenty fresh. Rounded, ripe orchard fruits alongside pithy citrus and growing notes of almond, hazelnut and honey. Smooth and creamy in texture. Domaine de Suremain is a seventh generation family estate with winemaking roots dating back to 1870. Armed with generations of experience and access to an array of amazing sites, Yves and Marie-Hélène de Suremain craft classic, expressive wines that convey their sites and terroir with artful style.
