Fermented with native yeasts and aged in large old botti for 18 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. 550 cases made. Medium-full bodied and bold, with strong aromas and flavors of ripe cherry, raspberry, dark chocolate, plum, thyme, rosemary, leather and earth. Dark, spicy, earthy and tart at the same time, with grippy tannins and tangy acidity. This is the personal label of Vito Lauria, winemaker for Due Terre wines and one of our personal favorites in Sicily. Vito Lauria is a Sicilian local. His 175 acres of vineyards are spread throughout steep, high elevation sites in Alcamo, ranging from 1800-3200 feet elevation and on clay and calcareous soils.
