2018 Tsiakkas Promara

100% organic & hand harvested Promara, an ancient variety native to this region. Four days of skin contact during fermentation; aged on the lees in stainless steel for nine months before additional aging in French and American oak.  Citrus, lemon curd, rose and other flowers on the nose. The medium-bodied palate continues with the same ingredients, adding some lychee and decent stony acidity. Oily mouthfeel and long finish, tapering towards acids and stony bitterness. A textured and aromatic, but still balanced take on the quite rare indigenous varietal. Only 1100 bottles made.  Tsiakkas Winery is located in Pelendri village in Limassol region. Costas Tsiakkas established the winery in 1988 which he runs with his wife Maria.
