100% Pinot Noir. This vineyard crests a boulder strewn outcropping of volcanic soil on the high western flank of the Eola Hills, leering down from 700 feet toward Eola Springs, and the famed Van Duzer Corridor. Blended from two fermentation lots—one 100% destemmed (one barrel) and one 20% whole cluster (three barrels). Aged on lees for 14 months in one new and three previously filled French Oak barrels. 13.4% alcohol. 95 cases made. This powerful, juicy, aromatic and flavorful wine captures the best of the excellent 2018 vintage, and the few extra years of bottle age have served it well. The wide range of berry fruits are well balanced by a mineral sense, an almost shell-like saltiness that helps create a distinctive, inviting aromatic tone. Light in body, fresh and focused, with excellent balance and energy.
