2019 Grgich Hills Cabernet Sauvignon

82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 5% Cab Franc, 2% Petit Verdot; all from certified organic estate vineyards- mostly in Yountville but also Rutherford and Calistoga. Fermented with native yeasts and aged for 20 months in all French oak. 

Grgich was founded in 1977 by Miljenko “Mike” Grgich, who first gained international recognition at the celebrated “Paris Tasting” of 1976 for his Ch. Montelena Chardonnay took first prize. They are still known today for their committment to regenerative, pesticide and herbicide-free farming.

The wine has a heritage aura, like a great Cabernet from the 1980s, and will no doubt age well through at least 2033."

The medium-bodied palate is refreshing and vibrant, delivering red and blackberry layers with a pleasantly chewy texture, finishing with an herbal lift."
