100% certified organic and practicing biodynamic Pinot Noir. Hand harvested, carefully sorted, and as whole berries and clusters, fermented in small batches in wooden casks.Aged in neutral wood for 12 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. This is a classic, light bodied German Pinot full of cherry, earth, strawberry, tar and lightly toasted oak on the nose. Light in body, with low tannins and brisk acidity buoying flavors of red cherry, blueberry, earth and oak notes. Very balanced and food friendly. Heitlinger is a modern estate in the village of Tiefenbach in the extreme north of Baden run by Claus Burmeister, who grew up on the nearby legendary Burg Ravensburg estate . Between the two estates, they own 80% of the vineyards entitled to Grosses Gewächs status in the Kraichgau region.
