100% Lagrein from the Dolimiti Alps, specifically on the slopes of Cembra: set on the eastern slope of the historic site of Doss Caslìr at almost 2000’ elevation. This tiny vineyard site is less than an acre! Hand harvested, fermented with native yeasts, fermented in steel and aged 225L French oak for 18 months. 13% alcohol. Elegant, pretty and smooth, with aromas of currant, blackberry and blueberry, violets, some peppery spice, licorice , star anise, cocoa and tobacco and a hint of wood. Medium bodied, with fantastic acid and mellow tannins. Long and lingering. Excellent with mushroom risottos and meat courses. Producers Michele and Mauro Nardin are in their early thirties!
