70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. The Grenache comes from rocky, pebbly soils on the Grillon Plateau, while the Syrah comes from limestone parcelsin Taulignan. To maintain its fruitiness and freshness, they use 100% destemmed harvest and a brief, one-week fermentation and maceration process with daily pumpovers. Aged in neutral wooden barrels. 13.0% alcohol.
This is a great value on a classic, easy to drink and food friendly Côtes-du-Rhône. Crushed berries, black cherry, garrigue, and black pepper in a soft, medium to full bodied, sun-drenched red blend. Classic southern (Rhône) comfort!
In this former farmhouse of the Château de Grignan, where the Marquise de Sévigné once lived, the Monteillet family has been passionately tending to its vineyards for four generations. The family sold barrels of wine to local customers until the modern Domaine Montine was established in 1987 by the Monteillet brothers, Claudy and Jean-Luc. The current proprietors, Mélina and Camille, enthusiastically combine traditional and modern methods to offer wines highlighting life’s beautiful moments. The estate spans across 175 acres across three appellations: AOC Grignan-les-Adhémar, Côtes du Rhône, and Cru Vinsobres. They also cultivate 7.5 acres of truffle oaks and 10 acres of lavender. In 2024, they started their conversion to organic farming.
