Pure, clean, fresh Chardonnay at a wonderful price- we love deals on inexpensive white Burgundy! Pours a pale lemon color and shows off notes of tart green apple and lemon, hints of stone, acacia flowers and light barrel hints of toast, honey and almonds. Medium bodied and smooth, with a nice bit of acidic cut on the finish.
Created in 1921, the Domaine de Rochebin has been dedicated solely to viticulture since 1972. Located in the heart of the Mâconnais, in Azé, it operates more than 125 acres of vines. Mickaël Marillier alongside his father Jean-Pierre, and Laurent Chardigny jointly manage the estate. The three men share the same philosophy and work in the same direction. The whole of the vineyard is managed according to the principles of the reasoned fight (la lutte raisonnée) and the plots are grassed. The history of Domaine de Rochebin dates back more than 1,000 years when it’s vineyards were apart of the legendary Abbey of Cluny, who’s monks produced some of the world’s most prized wine enjoyed by Church dignitaries, royalty, pilgrims and followers for over 8 centuries. Located in the village of Azé in the Mâcon, today most of the Domaine’s vineyards come from the Abbey’s former properties.
