2020 ONX Wines 'Mad Crush' Red Blend

71% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre and 14% Tempranillo; sourced from the organic ONX Estate Vineyard in the Templeton Gap district of Paso Robles.  Everything but the Grenache was fully destemmed, fermented with 50% whole clusters, and aged in steel.  15.3% alcohol. Full bodied, fruity and spicy at the same time. Notes of baked cherry, ripe strawberry, red plum, chai spice, pepper and leather. There’s tons of fruit but it all comes off feeling slightly rustic, in a good way.  Rich, lush and plush on the palate, with plenty of acid and tannin adding structure. Long, long finish. Pairs excellently with any meat off of the barbecue.  ONX has its tasting room in Tin City, and farms a 127 acre estate vineyard in the Templeton Gap.
