100% organic Pinot Noir from vines in the village Ober-Flörsheim, the highest elevation municipality in south-western Rheinhessen, where the Frey family has been growing grapes for since the 18th century. Sees 18 months in French oak. 13.5% alcohol. Medium bodied, elegant, and easy drinking, this has delightful and fairly intense notes of ripe red and black cherry, strawberry, leather, tobacco, chocolate, spice and a touch of earth. The tannins are fine and quite smooth, with a surprisingly long finish. Brisk acidity make this a great food wine for all types of cuisine- pair with poultry, salmon and pork. Philipp and Christopher Frey, the youngest generation of the family, and their father Stefan are now in charge, tending 55 acres of organic vines.
