68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot; all organically farmed from Clif’s Valle di Sotto estate in Oak Knoll. 14.8% alcohol. This Bordeaux-inspired blend changes in composition every year. Aged 16 months in 35% new French oak. 14.9% alcohol. 780 cases made. The Oak Knoll District is located at the southern end of the Napa Valley where cooling marine influences create a unique micro-climate that helps the grapes maintain bright fruit flavors and retain acidity. Cabernet aromas of blackberry, blueberry, cedar, and clove fill the glass. The wine has beautiful color with a bright red hue and purple density in the center. There is a gorgeous freshness from the acidity up front, followed by medium-weight tannins in the middle. Merlot fruit flavors carry this wine to a long finish, filled with great tannin and fruit balance.
94+ points, International Wine Report. "The 2021 Red Blend, composed of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec, and 5% Petit Verdot, is deep garnet-purple in color. After a swirl or two, note of black raspberries, mulberries, and baked blackcurrants emerge from the glass, plus nuances of tapenade, black truffles, and star anise. The full-bodied palate has bright acidity and gently chewy tannins to support the vibrant black fruits, finishing with an herbal lift."
92 points, Wine Enthusiast. "A bright, tangy aspect on the palate gives this berry- and cherryladen wine a lift of acidity to balance the very deep and concentrated fruit flavors. Tannins are moderate, letting the wine’s vibrancy and freshness shine through. Made from organic grapes."
