100% organic (uncertified) Petite Arvine. All stainless steel for fermentation and aging. The Vallée d’Aosta, in the extreme northwest of Italy, is tucked into the Alps and bordered by France and Switzerland. It’s Italy’s smallest region, with only 1260 square miles (approximately the size of Rhode Island). Petite Arvine is a rare mountain grape, better known in the Swiss Valais region, which is just over the Grand Saint-Bernard Pass from this winery. It is straw-yellow in color and the bouquet has savory notes plus stone fruit and a hint of white flowers. The palate is textured and waxy, with decent body (14% abv here) but a glorious freshness to balance that alcohol. Great minerality and mountain spring acidity throughout here.
