100% organic Pinot Noir from 50 year old vines densely planted on clay and limestone. Hand harvested, destemmed and vinified with native yeasts and without sulphur in older oak barrels. Aged on the lees in neutral oak for 12 months. Maison du Chancelier was founded in 2016 and is situated in an 18th-century building that once belonged to Nicolas Rolin, founder of Hospices de Beaune. Pommard is known as the “iron fist in the velvet glove” for its incredible structure hidden underneath supple, elegant fruit and this wine delivers! Explosive aromatics of floral-accented purple, red and black fruit and a bit of cocoa. So expressive and sexy! This is still quite young, with assertive tannins hiding underneath incredibly dense fruit. Decant to drink now or age for another 10 years.
