85% Shiraz, 15% Sangiovese. The fruit was crushed directly into traditional open-topped concrete fermenters then manually pumped-over. Aged for 12 months in older oak. 14% alcohol. This wine is full of pure plum, cherries, dark berries with dark chocolate, black pepper, eucalyptus and mint. Full bodied, smooth and round, with balanced acidity and medium tannins. Finishes long, savory, and spicy. Pair with burgers or barbecue. Primo Estate began its journey in 1953 when Primo Grilli, an 18-year-old from Italy’s Le Marche region, arrived in South Australia. After meeting his future wife, Santina, in Adelaide, they settled in Virginia, planting their vineyard in 1979.
