100% Gamay Noir farmed organically (certified) on young vines at 800’ elevation on Brouilly’s stony soil. Robert purchased this vineyard near Cercié and replanted it with regenerative agriculture in mind. Fermented with native yeasts and carbonic maceration and aged for 9 months in neutral oak barrels.
Deep ruby color in the glass. The nose is fresh, fruity and minty with a pleasant saline note. The palate is fresh and long with a lot of aromas of fresh and crunchy black fruits such as blackberry and blackcurrant, almond and cashew. Very light, smooth tannins. This wine is ideal as an aperitif or with pork belly, Tikka Masala, Hawaiian pizza, charcuterie board, goat cheese or for your Thanksgiving dinner.
Robert Perroud comes from a heritage of winemaking dating to the French Revolution. He founded Terrioirs Originels, a cooperative of growers and winemakers across the various villages of Beaujolais, almost 25 years ago. This wine comes from his personal estate in Brouilly. Committed to the environment and biodiversity, he perfects the fine art of winemaking with just one assistant. Pruning and harvesting are all done by hand according to Robert’s philosophy that no great wine is made without exceptional grapes.
