100% organic Pinot Noir from the Auntsfield Estate Vineyard. The fruit was hand-harvested, hand-sorted, gently de-stemmed and gravity-fed to tank. Fermented in stainless steel with 70% whole clusters. Aged 10 months in 20% new French barriques. Minimal sulphur at bottling. 13.5% alcohol. 917 cases made. Lively scents of black cherry and blueberry mingle with hints of dried rose petal. The palate is medium-bodied and juicy, with smooth taannins and refreshing acidity leading to a long, satisfying finish. This wine is downright captivating and sure to improve with age. Auntsfield Estate was the first commercial winery to be established in Marlborough in 1892. Auntsfield is unique as a Marlborough producer in that over half of its land is planted to Pinot Noir rather than the much more prevalent Sauvignon Blanc.
