100% organic Verdicchio from the 10 acre Fogliano cru vineyard, planted in 1978. Fermented in glass-lined cement tank and aged sur lie for 15 months. 1,000 cases made. The higher elevation and mineral-rich soils of Matelica result in a Verdicchio with greater structure, freshness, and aging potential compared to those from other regions. On the nose, this single vineyard bottling displays vibrant aromas of green apple, lemon zest, and pear, interwoven with notes of white flowers, almond, and a touch of herbs. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with crisp acidity and a distinct saline minerality. Flavors of citrus, peach, and a hint of honeydew melon are balanced by a refreshing, clean finish that leaves lingering notes of almond and wet stone.
