100% sustainably farmed Mencía from a tiny vineyard of 90+ year old vines. Fermented with native yeasts and whole bunches. Aged for 12 months in neutral 500L French oak barrels. 13.5% alcohol.
94+ points, The Wine Advocate. "The 2022 Tesín de la Campana is the second year for this wine. It is produced with the grapes from an old plot that is 70% north-facing on clay-rich soils and the rest south-facing on sandier soils. It fermented with full clusters, 100% in this case, in used open-top 500-liter oak barrels, where the wine later matured for one year. This year it's riper, reflected by the 13.5% alcohol, 3.58 pH and 5.1 grams of acidity. But it's still elegant and balanced, with depth and complexity. It opened up nicely in the glass to floral aromas, becoming more and more focused, with good depth and mid-palate.”
