LEGENDARY, RARE CULT NATURAL WINE!!
100% certified organic Gamay from a tiny, young-vine plot on clay-chalk soils. These are massale selections of gamay, with about a third planted in the early 60s, and the remainder in 2016. Fermented with native yeasts via carbonic maceration, then aged 9 months in oak. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with no added sulphur- totally zero/zero. 12% alcohol. Light in body but surprisingly structured, with persistent, tea-like tannins. Like most Labet wines, give this some air to let the reduction blow off to reveal just ripe strawberries, raspberries, blueberries all dusted with sea salt and delicious hints of cinnamon, clove, violets, leather minerals and earth. This is one of those wines that changes with every sip. Extraordinary, almost supernatural length in the mouth. Closer in style to Burgundy than Beaujolais.
