100% sustainably farmed Roussanne from 20 year old vines on clay-limestone soils that also harbor the estate’s “cerisiers”- cherry trees. Hand harvested and fermented with native yeasts, mostly in steel but with 20% in French oak demi-muids. Aged on the lees for 12 months in the same combination of steel and wood. 12.5% alcohol. This is a lighter, more lifted style of Roussanne than you find in the Rhône, with plenty of lemony fresh citrus and apple fruit alongside faint tropical fruits and hints of varietally correct honey and honeysuckle. Minerality runs throughout, with plenty of acidity to keep everything buoyant. Pair with any cheese! Fabien Trosset and his partner Chloé took over the estate of Jean-Louis Trosset in 2011. They slowly began expanding the domaine until it reached its current size of 40 acres, with 32 of these planted to red and only 8 to white.
