100% Teroldego from a 4 acre, 40 year old vineyard in Mezzolombardo, Piana Rotaliana, Trentino. Hand harvested, fermented with native yeasts and aged simply in concrete. 13.5% alcohol. A true standard bearer for Teroldego reds, Giovanni Fedrizzi’s tiny underground cellar is located literally one block away from the legendary neighboring Foradori. With a cluster of ancient family owned/farmed micro-parcels carved into the Dolomites, the Fedrizzi clan began grape growing 6 generations ago, and has been bottling their own small lots of Teroldego, Lagrein and Pinot Gris since the 1870s! Pours a dark color and gives off a nose of ripe red cherries, coffee, white pepper, blackberry, aromatic wood and tobacco. Medium bodied, with medium tannin and acidity. Perfectly balanced and vibrantly alpine fresh.
