This is the very first vintage of this new red blend from Frog’s Leap! It’s 33% Zinfandel, 31% Petite Sirah, 22% Merlot and 14% Syrah. It’s all farmed organically and without irrigation, destemmed, and fermented with native yeasts. Aged in a combination of 2- to 5-year-old oak barrels for 8 months- no new wood. 3,630 cases made. 13.6% alcohol. Warm, generous fruit from the Zin combines with great backbone and spiciness from the Sirah-Syrah sisters. Merlot (grown at a high elevation) adds acidity and an earthy-floral top-note that helps invite the next sip. It is a a fresh, fruity, and deliciously drinkable red wine that makes a perfect accompaniment to any weeknight meal, from pizza to pasta to burgers to barbecue.
