100% Pinot Noir from 30 year old vines. The soil is composed of layers of clay and small fossilized oyster shells with limestone sediment. Primary fermentation in steel with malolactic in French oak; aged for 18 months in neutral French oak. Situated in Bué, Sancerre, the Millet family has been making wine for over five generations. The domaine is now run by Gérard and Isabelle, along with their young son Steve. The estate covers a total of 60 acres. This is light, bright and fresh Loire Valley Pinot, with a nose of dried red berries, ripe black cherries, wildflowers, white pepper and a hint of earthiness. Light in body, with soft tannins and high but balanced acidity providing a really elegant, refined overall impression.
